Tim began working for Zebra nearly 15 years ago as an airbrush artist.  He eventually learned how to pierce and has been working as a body piercer for 13 years.

He was born and raised in Napa, CA.  His family owned an auto wrecking business and it is here that he discovered his life long passion for old American cars.  Growing up, Tim learned how to work on cars from his late father; learning everything from mechanics to body work and painting.  Tim has carried this knowledge into his present hobby of customizing vintage cars and motorcycles.

Tim moved to San Francisco in 1989. It was at this time when he became very active in the underground art and music scene. He was able to expand on his talent for drawing and painting; often holding exclusive art viewings accompanied by his own music. His art was not limited to the canvas, it also included body airbrushing on performance artists.

Tim used his talent as an airbrush artist to land his first job at Zebra on Polk St. in San Francisco.  Moe hired Tim to airbrush denim and leather jackets for sale at Zebra.  It was at his time that Tim developed a long lasting friendship and work relationship with the owners of Zebra. 

Tim also moved from San Francisco to Oakland. In 1994 he found his first warehouse in West Oakland and immediately turned it into an art gallery/ living space/ body shop. Tim carried over his eccentric cit lifestyle to the East Bay by promoting live punk rock shows along with art viewings at his warehouse. Screw 32, Strychnine, Subincision, Witticus are a few examples of the many bands that played shows at the Tolle Gallery.

Tim currently resides in Oakland, CA.  He is working on a number of cars including a convertible 1964 Lincoln Continental.  He is also the co-owner of the Ruby and Radio, two of the hottest bars in Downtown Oakland.  When he is not working at Zebra he is usually at one of his bars ready to host the nightly party.
