Kidnapped by carnies as a child and forced to join their traveling circus, Monica Painter discovered her love of the arts and the disregard of the norm early on. Monica apprenticed under a variety of freaks and side show acts over the years rounding her into the eclectic tattoo artist she is today.

Having been the victim of a sword swallowing demonstration gone awry, Monica decided to take a break from the big top and settle down at Zebra Tattoo. It is here that she creates colorful permanent body art for the young, old, and not so faint of heart. Using skin as her canvas Monicas tattoos are inspired by: the Victorian era, horror films, sailors, pirates, women with questionable reputations, and Rock n Roll.
