PIERCING FAQ:

DO YOU TAKE APPOINTMENTS FOR PIERCINGS?

We are currently working on an appointment system! For now, anything piercing related is solely based on a walk-in service; we do not take appointments. Piercing hours in Walnut Creek are 11:30-7:00pm, and piercing hours in Berkeley are 10:45am-7:00pm; please try to be inside the shop before 5-6pm to get in line to see the piercer, but keep in mind we cannot guarantee a spot in line, depending on our wait time. Some days we may need to cut off piercings as early as 5pm if we have a three hour wait time, which puts us at our closing time at 8pm.

WHAT TIME DO YOU STOP TAKING PIERCINGS?*

Piercing hours in Walnut Creek are 11:30-7:00pm and piercing hours in Berkeley are 10:45am-7:00pm, HOWEVER on any given day depending on our wait time, the time at which we stop taking piercings and jewelry changes for the day is subject to change. For example, if it is 6pm and the wait time is 2 hours, we will cut off piercings, or anything piercing/jewelry related for the night, since we close at 8pm. The reason for this is to allow the piercing artist enough time to finish helping everyone in line before we close. We cannot keep our employees past 8pm.

WHAT ARE YOUR PIERCING WAIT TIMES LIKE?

Regarding wait times; please be prepared to wait! Piercing wait times can be difficult to estimate and we cannot absolutely guarantee a spot in line. For example, if we have a two-hour wait at 6pm, we cannot take any more piercings (or anything piercing related) for the day because we close at 8pm. Our recommendation would be to come in as soon as we open at 11:30 to see the piercer.

CAN I RETURN OR EXCHANGE JEWELRY?

            No returns or exchanges.

DO YOU HAVE NUMBING CREAM FOR PIERCINGS?

Yes, we offer numbing cream for certain piercings for an additional $6 fee per piercing.

CAN I BRING MY OWN JEWELRY TO GET PIERCED WITH?

There are no guarantees we will be able to use jewelry for a piercing if it was not purchased from us. Our recommendation would be to bring in your own jewelry so we can inspect it; it must be the correct gauge, length, style and material. We only pierce with hypoallergenic metals: 14k solid gold, implant grade titanium, and surgical steel.

DO I TIP MY PIERCING ARTIST?

Tipping is not mandatory, but anything is appreciated, of course! :)

PIERCING FOR MINORS:

  • Any individual minor under the age of 18 years old must bring all of the following:

    • 1) A photo ID (Driver’s License/school ID)

    • 2) Proof of birth date (Driver’s License, school ID, health card, and/or birth certificate)

    • 3) A parent or legal guardian must be physically present inside the shop with the minor.

      • All legal guardians and/or parents must provide a valid state ID.

      • If the minor brings a legal guardian (not a parent) they must provide the legal documents from the court/Department of Corrections stating legal guardianship over the minor.

      • Minor can bring in a NOTARIZED letter (MUST BE SIGNED BY A LEGAL PUBLIC NOTARY!); please specify which piercing. You may obtain a notarized letter at a UPS store, Mailboxes Etc., or even your bank. Notarized letters usually cost around $12, but banks are usually free of charge.

PIERCING FOR BABIES:

  • Please come into the shop to have a manager or piercer examine the baby’s ear lobes when most convenient for you.

  • Zebra Inc. recommends for infants to be a minimum of 4-6 months old, in order for their ear lobes to be developed enough to safely pierce. That being said, we cannot guarantee babies’ ear piercings until the piercer gives an OK.

  • The parent must bring a valid state ID, and the baby’s birth certificate.

  • Over the years we have experienced that the piercing process may be traumatic to toddlers.

    • Generally toddlers ages 1-3 may have a difficult time getting back to the piercing room due to nervousness and anticipation of pain. We don’t want this to be a stressful experience for you, your child, or the piercer. Please keep this in mind :)

  • During your visit, we kindly ask for you to take crying babies and children outside in order to limit distractions for everyone. This is in consideration and respect for our guests receiving tattoos and piercings. In addition, please do not allow children to run inside the shop for their safety!

PIERCING GENITALIA:

  • No individual minor under the age of 18 years old can receive a genital piercing, even if the minor has parental consent.

  • Please call the shop the day you plan on coming in for a genital piercing, to verify that the piercer we have on hand will perform your desired piercing.

TATTOO FAQ:

HOW DO I MAKE A TATTOO APPOINTMENT? WHAT IS A TATTOO CONSULTATION?

To schedule a tattoo appointment, you need to call or come into the shop to leave a minimum of an $80 deposit. Please keep in mind that larger tattoos/time slots will require a larger deposit than $80. That deposit secures your spot in an artist’s schedule and comes off of the total price the day you receive your tattoo. Our shop minimum for tattoos is $100, but the final price of the tattoo will depend on size and detail. Our hourly rate of $180 only pertains to work that requires multiple sessions. The only person who can give you a more exact estimate would be the artist you would work with.

For larger or more detailed pieces, we usually recommend a consultation appointment. A consultation is a free thirty-minute service where you would meet with the artist of your choice to discuss and exchange ideas about your tattoo. You can check out our artists’ portfolios, and once you find an artist whose style you would like to work with the most, give us a call and we can set up a consultation for you with the artist of your choice on a day that works best for the both of you.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME TO RECEIVE A TATTOO?

It is California State Law that an individual must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo, even with parental consent. You must bring a valid state ID or passport.

DO YOU ACCEPT WALK-IN TATTOOS?

We accept walk in tattoos, but we recommend giving us a call the day of to see check our artists’ availability. Please keep in mind that walk-ins are on a first come first serve basis; we cannot guarantee you a spot in advance unless an appointment is made.
