Meet Amanda Garcia, RN, BSN
Born and raised in San Jose, Amanda has had a connection to tattoo culture and the arts from an early age. At 18, she began modeling, hosting art shows, and collaborating with talented photographers, artists, and brands. Her work has appeared on magazine covers, in calendars, and in music videos—giving her a unique background that blends healthcare, art, fashion, and tattoo culture.

 

Before becoming a nurse, Amanda worked at Stanford University, where she supported two Chief Medical Directors, assisted with federal grant writing, and worked closely with medical fellows. It was during her time at Stanford that she became inspired to pursue a career in nursing.

 

In 2018, Amanda earned her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree from Unitek College and went on to serve as a Charge Nurse on an acute psychiatric unit. While working through the COVID-19 pandemic, she took on significant responsibilities in infection control—helping ensure compliance with evolving safety protocols and developing processes to protect staff, patients, and visitors. That same year, she also began working in naturopathic and functional medicine, further expanding her perspective on patient care and wellness.
Determined to continue advancing her education, Amanda returned to Unitek College and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2023, graduating with honors. She currently works on a hospital Trauma/Medical-Surgical unit, where she provides direct patient care, serves as a Charge Nurse, and represents her department on the hospital’s Infection Control Committee.

 

At Zebra, Amanda brings her clinical experience and lifelong appreciation for tattoo culture together in a unique role focused on infection control, safety, staff education, sterilization practices, cross-contamination prevention, and the continued improvement of our health and safety protocols.
Outside of nursing, Amanda loves spending time with her family, live music, art, fashion, and traveling.
