Born and raised in the Bay Area, Josh Thurman brings over a decade of fine art experience into the world of tattooing. After 13 years as a gallery-exhibiting painter, he transitioned his deep understanding of composition, light, and realism into tattooing working professionally in San Francisco for the past four years.

Specializing in black and grey, color realism, and portraiture, his work is rooted in fine art fundamentals while pushing creative boundaries through thoughtful style blending. Whether crafting highly detailed realistic pieces or merging illustrative elements with realism, each tattoo is designed as a custom collaboration tailored to tell the client’s story with intention and artistry.
